Summary

Akasuna Ran, the new-generation genius puppet master of Sunagakure, is taken in as Granny Chiyo’s final disciple just because she looks too much like a certain S-rank rogue ninja.

Her life is supposed to go smoothly: become a Chūnin early, then a Jonin, then crush her peers and reach Kage-level… but before she can do any of that, she runs into that S-rank rogue ninja first.

Maybe he’s jealous that she “stole” his Granny Chiyo, because Sasori’s poison needles don’t show a shred of mercy as they shoot straight at Ran’s vital spots. Fifteen-year-old Ran immediately turns and runs. Maybe in five more years she can say the fight isn’t decided yet, but right now she’s basically delivering him fresh human-puppet materials.

She barely takes two steps before pain hits her back, and the next second she loses consciousness…

When she wakes up again, she frantically checks her scroll and confirms she’s still in one piece. She has just breathed a sigh of relief when she notices something is wrong—holy crap, what on earth is uglier than Kankuro’s puppets?!

With one wave of her hand, she uses chakra threads to slice the monster in front of her into pieces. Then she spends half a day cleaning out the monster nest she wakes up in and even gathers some intel. And that’s when things get bad—once she gathers intel, she realizes something is seriously wrong. She probably, maybe, kind of isn’t in her own world anymore?

A certain blindfolded teacher has just finished clearing a special-grade curse when new intel pops up on his phone. Annoyed, he tosses the phone onto his bed and goes to shower first. When he comes back and picks up his phone leisurely, he freezes—

“Suspected” cursed-spirit manipulation is a very delicate phrasing. Over there he’s still being worshipped as their leader, yet over here they’re already reporting suspected cursed-spirit manipulation.

This means the residual cursed energy isn’t Geto’s, but the curse’s behavior is extremely close to cursed-spirit manipulation.
