The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 83

She sounded so nonchalant that Gojo almost doubted whether she was about to have an all-out battle with Sukuna... or just go for a casual evening walk with him.

"Ki-chan, don't fight right after eating, okay? That's bad for your stomach. At least wait half an hour," Saitama chimed in, super thoughtful.

"Don't worry, big brother, I know," Saki nodded sweetly.

Gojo: "......"

Gojo took a deep breath and decided maybe he should try adopting their ultra-laid-back attitude too. Otherwise, he was going to be the only one on high alert, and honestly, it felt like he was more worried than the people actually involved.

"Alright, as long as you're happy," he said with a forced smile.

...

At 9:30 p.m., Saki leisurely applied a face mask. She wanted to finish her skincare before handing her body over to Sukuna.

The mask needed fifteen minutes, so while waiting, she wandered into the living room to watch TV with Saitama.

Gojo and Uraume were also in the living room, but unlike the chill siblings, they both looked pretty serious. Understandable—after all, they were about to revive the King of Curses.

Mahito and the three Death Painting brothers weren't around—they'd gone downstairs to avoid getting caught in the crossfire if things went sideways. Mahito, being unusually considerate, had even brought Hanami, Dagon, and Jogo along with him—carrying a fish tank in one hand, a flower pot in the other, and a little flame flickering on top of his head as he ran off.

"You guys are being way too relaxed about this," Gojo finally couldn't help but say.

"Haven't I always been like this?" Saki replied with a completely innocent face.

"You're about to let Ryomen Sukuna come back to life," Gojo reminded her.

Saki kept looking at him with that same innocent expression—like she was silently asking: Okay? And? What's the issue?

Gojo was at a loss for words, but still gave a complicated sigh and said, "At least act a little nervous. And think through your binding conditions—make sure there aren't any loopholes."

Saki paused and thought for a moment, then actually said, "Oh, right. There is a problem."

Gojo instantly tensed up. "What's the problem? Hurry up and say it so we can fix it."

"Sukuna," Saki turned to ask, "I still have my nail polish on. Can you eat like that? Should I take them off for you?"

As she spoke, she thought about how annoying that would be. "Actually, never mind. You deal with it yourself. I'm too lazy to take them off for you."

Gojo: "......"

He silently swore that if anyone ever called him unreliable again, he was cussing them out. Compared to these two? He was the definition of dependable.

Technically, they said Sukuna would be revived at ten, but it wasn't like they had to hit the exact minute.

After Saki finished her face mask, she entered the inner domain and let Sukuna knock her out, fully handing over control of her body.

The moment Sukuna took over, everyone in the room sat up straight.

He stretched lazily, then walked toward his original body. But just as he passed by Saitama, he suddenly swung a punch at him.

Caught completely off guard, Saitama was sent flying, crashing through a wall and vanishing into the distance.

Sukuna picked up his body and left without hesitation. When Gojo tried to go after him, he was forced back by a single punch.

Uraume reacted quickly, immediately activating their technique and raising a massive wall of ice to block Gojo.

Gojo fired off a "Red" technique with a flick of his hand—shattering the ice wall in an instant—but that brief second was enough. Sukuna had already vanished with his body.

Saitama came back shortly after, completely unharmed, but he had no idea which direction Sukuna had gone, so there was no way to chase him.

...

Saki woke up because of the cold. It was already December, and nighttime temperatures had dropped into the single digits.

She was lying on the freezing ground in a thin nightgown, staring up at a star-filled sky, completely dazed.

What the heck just happened?

She sat up in confusion, looking around—then spotted Sukuna not far away.

He had fully taken over his original body now—four arms, four eyes, a terrifying, godlike presence. He was sitting on the ground casually, resting his chin on one hand as he watched her.

Saki wasn't used to seeing him like this. She stared at him blankly, the only thought running through her mind: He's... seriously huge.

"You awake?" Sukuna said, sounding pleased. "Then let's get to the battle we agreed on."

Saki blinked, and as her body's memories during sleep slowly came back to her, she finally caught up on what had happened.

"I told you, we're supposed to fight tomorrow," she complained, immediately annoyed.

"Heh, I'm not letting anyone interfere with our match," Sukuna replied offhandedly.

If Gojo and Saitama were watching, he didn't even need to think—if she looked like she was even slightly losing, they'd step in right away.

As he spoke, he stood up—his towering frame over two meters tall instantly cranked up the pressure to the max.

Saki, however, didn't feel a thing. The only thought in her head was: He's freaking huge.

She now had to tilt her head just to make eye contact with him.

"I don't wanna fight right now. I just wanna go back and sleep," she grumbled again, clearly annoyed.

Sukuna lost his patience. He let out a sharp laugh. "Brat, did you think I was asking for your opinion?"

Before the words had even finished leaving his mouth, he was already right in front of her—and attacked without hesitation.

Saki's reaction was quick enough. She instinctively threw a punch straight at him. Their fists collided, and because they both held back just enough, the impact canceled out—neither one budged an inch.

But the next second, she got hit in the gut and was sent flying. Her body slammed into the ground, carving out a deep crater before finally coming to a stop.

That's where having four arms made a difference.

Dust filled the pit. Saki coughed twice, then stood up like nothing happened.

Which, honestly, it kind of hadn't. A hit like that wasn't enough to hurt her—but it did snap her into combat mode, and she gave up on whining about sleep.

Pissed off now, she leapt out of the crater, ready to punch him right back.

Sukuna didn't follow up after landing the hit. He just stood there calmly. When he saw her come charging back, all mad and fired up, he finally gave a satisfied grin.

"Now that's more like it," he said approvingly.

Saki didn't waste another word. Just like always, she went straight for the fight, throwing a punch at him head-on.
