"Bang!"

A loud crash—the door had been flung open. Right after that came a booming voice.

"Shen Huo! You're still sleeping, seriously?! Have you not seen the chaos online? You're getting dragged by the entire internet—damn, you're something else!"

The guy talking was big and fat, sporting a full-on beer belly and a face full of meaty lines. His glare looked like he wanted to eat the young man still wrapped up in bed.

Meanwhile, the guy in bed blindly patted around. When he didn't find his blanket, he finally sat up, clearly not thrilled about it.

The young man wore cartoon-print pajamas. His exposed skin was pale, and the blue veins underneath were visible.

His hair was soft and pitch black, with messy bangs slightly too long, covering his brows and eyes. When he brushed it back with his hand, it revealed a pair of narrow, charming peach blossom eyes. A tiny mole sat on the tip of his nose, adding a hint of allure.

In short—he was gorgeous.

Shen Huo opened his sleepy eyes and looked at the furious Brother Li standing in front of him, letting out a lazy snort.

That snort only made things worse. It lit Brother Li's rage on fire.

"Shen Huo, are you seriously laughing? Do you have any idea how much dirt is online about you right now?!"

"What dirt?" Shen Huo looked totally lost.

Brother Li let out a laugh, completely out of anger. He snapped, "What dirt? You really dare ask? Check out the mess you made last night!"

He tossed an iPad onto the bed.

Shen Huo picked it up and saw a blurry photo of himself being held in some man's arms.

Below that, it was all hashtags and trending threads calling Shen Huo out. Tons of fans were unfollowing him, saying they'd stan-ed the wrong person.

Fans bailed. Haters exploded.

Shen Huo didn't come from a professional background. He'd just been working odd jobs when Brother Li randomly scouted him and dragged him into showbiz—a place that looked glamorous but was really just a black hole.

Once you jumped in, it was hard to get out.

Compared to the other three members, who could sing and dance like pros, Shen Huo danced like a zombie, sang like a raspy duck, and couldn't even catch a prelude properly. Of course people called him a useless pretty face.

In reality, he hadn't even been in the industry for three months.

During those three months, Brother Li had dragged him around to networking events nonstop. There wasn't even time to rehearse. Not that Brother Li ever got him a proper teacher anyway.

Brother Li just said, "All you need to do is stand there and you'll be the center of attention."

In today's world of internet hype, you could buy a few trending spots and have marketing accounts blast your name—no need to grind with actual training.

But even the best PR can backfire.

Suddenly, a behind-the-scenes clip of Shen Huo training leaked. His dance was stiff, his timing was off, and he even messed up lyrics. It instantly blew up.

And now, add this scandal on top of it.

He was trending—but in the worst way.

An idol who blew up because the entire internet hated him? There was probably no one else but Shen Huo.

Shen Huo lowered his head slightly, the nape of his pale neck exposed like a dying swan.

Brother Li sneered. "Look at what you did last night. You happy now? Feeling proud of yourself? Think you're real impressive, huh?"

His smile disappeared, face turning cold. "Without your fans, without the traffic, you're nothing. Not even worth a fart."

Shen Huo leaned away from Brother Li's spit and said, "What if I told you I was just helping an old man up last night? That photo isn't what it looks like..."

"What's the point of saying that now? The internet only cares about hot takes and jumping to conclusions. Your explanation is worth jack! They'll only believe the photo. If you come out to explain, they'll just think you're guilty, like you've got something to hide!"

Shen Huo pressed his lips together.

Brother Li let out a long sigh and reached out to pat Shen Huo's shoulder, but Shen Huo dodged it. Brother Li's expression instantly darkened.

"Shen Huo, you should really think about it—getting on Director Li's good side is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for someone like you."

"A little idol with no background, no power... if no one supports you, you'll just be a flash in the pan, forgotten in no time."

"If all it takes is sleeping with someone to get access to good scripts and huge traffic, why the hell not?"

Shen Huo's eyes turned cold, a mocking laugh flashing in his heart.

Director Li was notorious in the industry for his thing with young guys—especially good-looking ones.

And now Brother Li had actually served him up, blatantly presenting Shen Huo to Director Li like a piece of merchandise. That pig face of his had practically been groveling on the floor, licking his boots.

The old man had lit up the second he laid eyes on Shen Huo. He didn't even wait for Brother Li to say anything before making his way over.

And then, Brother Li had quietly slipped away.

The old man tried to grope Shen Huo's thigh.

Shen Huo grabbed a wine bottle and smashed it over his head.

The blood had splattered on his face. He'd felt nothing but disgust.

"I bashed his head open like that, and he still didn't get the damn message..."

"Shen Huo!" Brother Li suddenly shouted.

He took a couple of deep breaths, then sneered.

"Director Li's being generous, otherwise you'd be rotting in jail right now for what you did to him! He said as long as you go back and apologize, he'll clean up all the dirt online. Otherwise, what you saw today? There's gonna be way more of it coming."

Shen Huo's expression shifted slightly.

Brother Li's lips curled up smugly. After years in the business, and with so many stars made under his hand, there was no way he couldn't handle someone like Shen Huo.

"Fine," Shen Huo said calmly. "I'll go—and give him another bottle to the head."

"Shen Huo, are you fucking insane?" Brother Li snapped. "You don't wanna go? Then cough up the ten million breach fee. Not a cent less!"

Shen Huo's fists clenched tight. He stared straight at Brother Li, the corners of his lips lifting.

"Ten million, huh?"

Brother Li froze for a second, then snorted. "Ha! You think you can come up with ten million, looking like this? Don't forget who brought you into the entertainment world. Who pulled you out of your pathetic normal life!"
