My Livestreaming Metaphysics & Gossip Became an Internet Sensation Ch. 153
Du Qinxue tugged his son and scolded, "Don't randomly pet cats in the temple, you hear me?"
What if it wasn't an ordinary cat? It sure didn't look like one.
Du Xinliang rubbed his fingers together, clearly disappointed, and reluctantly nodded.
"Mrow~" Miaomiao thought these people were kind of annoying, but she didn't dare slack off on the task Han Shi had given her. She jumped off the steps, walked a few steps, then turned her head and meowed at them.
Hurry up and follow me!
Du Qinxue's family glanced at each other. "Is this cat really gonna take us to Master Jiang?"
"Let's go and see."
So the whole family trailed carefully after Miaomiao, following her through winding paths, and sure enough, they eventually found Jiang Yiqing.
As soon as Miaomiao saw him from a distance, she let out a "meow" and walked off with a catlike strut.
When Du Qinxue and his family reached Jiang Yiqing, they were still marveling. "This temple really is something else. Even the cats are smart enough to lead people."
Jiang Yiqing had been talking with Wen Xiuyan, and when he heard that, he couldn't help but smile. "Miaomiao is quite clever."
Du Qinxue nodded. "We came specifically to say hello to Master Jiang. It's been a while."
As he spoke, Du Qinxue gave a little cough and glanced at Wen Xiuyan. Wait a second—why did this guy's expression seem kind of off, like he wasn't too happy?
"Brother Wen, didn't expect to see you here too." Du Qinxue didn't think too much of it, just assumed he'd imagined it, and greeted him with a bright smile.
Wen Xiuyan gave a nod in return, acknowledging him.
Then Du Qinxue launched into bragging about his son again. "Who would've thought— I figured his grades would drop, but he actually came out top of his grade in the last exam!"
Du Xinliang looked a little shy and said modestly, "It's all thanks to Mr. Qiao. He teaches really well."
"Mr. Qiao?" Jiang Yiqing raised an eyebrow.
"Ahem, that's Qiao Chun," Du Qinxue explained.
Qiao Chun was the ghost teacher who had once forced Du Xinliang to study. Later, he registered an account online and started live-streaming lessons every day, diligently and without fail. If he wasn't worried people would think it was weird, he probably would've stayed online twenty-four hours a day.
If you looked past the fact that he was a ghost, which was definitely scary, Qiao Chun's teaching was honestly excellent. He was also super hardworking, and his classes were free. As a result, his popularity shot up, and he now had hundreds of thousands of followers.
Du Xinliang ended up listening to Qiao Chun's lessons without even realizing it. He worked pretty hard too, and surprisingly, his grades stayed stable and never dropped.
Though Du Qinxue felt a little uncomfortable about it, he had to admit—this Mr. Qiao really was selfless.
"And also, when I'm listening to Mr. Qiao's classes..." Du Xinliang scratched his head awkwardly. "If I slack off even a little, I get this feeling like he's about to reach through the screen and grab me. It freaks me out so much I don't even dare get distracted, and my study efficiency shot up."
Jiang Yiqing blinked, "...Well, whatever works for you."
After Du Qinxue's family left, Miaomiao came back again, this time bringing Wen Junrong. The kid barreled in noisily and shot his brother a disapproving look. "Brother, you're hanging out with my idol behind my back and didn't even tell me!"
Wen Xiuyan completely ignored the accusing tone, just lifted his eyelids and gave him a cold side-eye.
Wen Junrong instantly felt his nerves slip a bit under that look, but with his idol standing right there, he couldn't lose face. So he huffed, "Idol, look at my brother—he's like a freakin' T-Rex!"
Jiang Yiqing gave Wen Junrong a look that said what am I supposed to do with you. This kid really had no fear of getting his butt kicked, huh?
Wen Xiuyan nearly laughed out of pure annoyance. Good thing Jiang Yiqing was around—otherwise Wen Junrong would be in trouble.
"Idol, idol, guess who I just ran into?" Wen Junrong ignored his brother's death glare and leaned in toward Jiang Yiqing like he had a big secret to share.
Jiang Yiqing couldn't help being curious. "Who?"
"Min Yao! And Yu Yuanhao!"
Jiang Yiqing heard the names and drew a blank. Huh? Who the heck were they?
"Ahem! You forgot? They're the ones from before..." Wen Junrong quickly started babbling to jog his memory, and Jiang Yiqing finally had a lightbulb moment.
"You know them?" Jiang Yiqing raised an eyebrow. What a coincidence.
Wen Junrong loved sharing gossip, especially with his idol. He nodded eagerly. "Yeah yeah, let me tell you—Min Yao, he..."
Jiang Yiqing listened intently, nodding now and then as the two gossiped away like no one else was around. His face stayed calm, but the sparkle in his eyes totally gave him away.
Wen Xiuyan stood off to the side: "..."
"So the two of them now..." Jiang Yiqing asked, still curious.
Wen Junrong rubbed his hands excitedly. "I bet they're still together! They looked super close just now!"
Just as Jiang Yiqing was getting into the story, he spotted Miaomiao bringing two more people over. When he saw who it was, he instantly got nervous and let out a loud cough.
Wen Junrong blinked. "Idol, are you catching a cold?"
Jiang Yiqing looked at Wen Junrong's pure, dumb little face, gave a vague nod, then quietly scooted over to stand next to Wen Xiuyan and looked up at the sky. "Nice weather today."
Wen Xiuyan had to stifle a laugh and pretended not to notice how awkward the change of topic was. "Yeah."
Wen Junrong didn't get it. "Why are we talking about the weather now? Weren't we just talking about Min—"
Before he could finish, he finally saw Min Yao and Yu Yuanhao walking over. He shut up instantly, almost choking on his own spit.
Jiang Yiqing let out a long breath—thank god. They hadn't been caught gossiping by the people involved, or his cool and mysterious image would've totally crumbled.
After coming clean, Min Yao had gone back to dressing as a guy. Compared to when he wore girl's clothes, he looked a little different—especially his vibe. What used to be soft and gentle now had more of a bold edge.
Even though there wasn't any physical contact between him and Yu Yuanhao, it was obvious the two were very close.
Yu Yuanhao looked kind of awkward and tried to subtly put some distance between them, but Min Yao gave him a wounded look. He instantly smiled sheepishly to make up for it.
Watching them interact made Wen Junrong feel a bit sour. Tsk tsk, who would've thought Min Yao could be this sappy? Love really does turn people weird. Kinda scary, honestly.
