The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 1
"The album sales this time were amazing—totally a huge success!"
"You've been working hard lately. The president said you should take a good rest. There's also a handshake event next week to celebrate the new song release."
"And then there's an ice cream commercial shoot at the beginning of next month..."
On the other end of the line, her manager Mandelin Kinoshita was rattling off her upcoming schedule nonstop.
Saki listened carefully while handing cash to the supermarket cashier. The cashier quickly rang her up and handed her a stuffed shopping bag. She picked it up effortlessly and walked out.
Suddenly, chatter broke out behind her in the checkout line.
"Her back looks just like Kiki's. She's even wearing sunglasses and a mask—could it actually be her?"
"No way. Kiki's chest isn't that flat."
"True. Kiki's like the ultimate goddess—perfect figure, perfect face."
The girl, already a short distance away, quietly glanced down at her chest. Yep, totally flat. So flat that as long as she didn't stuff her bra, she never had to worry about being recognized by fans.
Ugh! She was supposed to be a super popular idol!
Saki was beyond annoyed but tried to comfort herself with the thought that maybe she was just a late bloomer. After all, she was only eighteen.
"Oh, right. One more thing I forgot to tell you." Manager Kinoshita's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
"The president's wife had something she wanted me to pass on to you. Said it was something you asked her for. I don't have time today, so I had Airi bring it over instead."
Saki's eyes lit up instantly when she heard that.
She'd complained to the president's wife before about her flat chest, and the woman had said she had a secret remedy for breast enhancement. She even promised to send it to her.
"Okay, got it. Thank you, Kinoshita-san."
Feeling great, Saki ended the call with a cheerful tone and picked up her pace on the way home.
When she got back to her upscale apartment, the first thing she saw was a small box sitting at her doorstep.
That fast?
She bent down to pick it up—it was surprisingly light. Once inside the living room, she put down her shopping bag and opened the box without delay.
Inside was something that looked like a finger, all wrapped up in cloth.
She froze for a second, then quickly unwrapped the cloth to reveal what it really was—an actual finger.
A dried, red finger. It looked a lot like a human's, but the nail was black and super sharp. It probably belonged to some kind of humanoid monster.
Was this really something you could eat to get bigger boobs?
Saki was doubtful, but since the president's wife had gone out of her way to find it for her, she figured it was worth a try—whether it worked or not.
Back in her old world, she used to eat all sorts of weird stuff with her older brother, so honestly, this weird-looking finger didn't seem that crazy.
So... how was she supposed to eat it? Could she just bite into it?
She turned the finger around in her hands, trying to figure it out, but couldn't bring herself to just chomp down on it raw. Worried it might mess up her stomach, she decided to cook it first.
With that in mind, she ran over and opened a door on the living room wall.
The door was embedded in a solid wall, but behind it was a plain, minimalist room that didn't match the living room's vibe at all.
"Big brother, you in there? Come help me cook something," Saki shouted inside, but no one answered.
Her brother, Saitama, wasn't home. He was probably out hunting monsters again.
Saki wasn't originally from this world—she'd ended up here by accident. Her original world was totally different from the peaceful life here, full of all kinds of monsters.
Her brother Saitama was a hero under the Hero Association and was often out taking care of the ones causing trouble.
Since he wasn't home, she had no choice but to do it herself.
She took the matter into her own hands, went into the kitchen, and started scrubbing the finger clean—she even tried pulling off the nail.
She had no idea what kind of creature the finger came from, but the nail was insanely hard to remove. She used every bit of strength she had and still couldn't get it off. In the end, she gave up.
She threw the finger straight into a pot, added some water, and started boiling it. Cooking wasn't exactly her strong suit, so she planned to just keep it simple and boil it until it was done.
Five minutes later, she poked it with chopsticks—it was rock hard. So she kept boiling.
Thirty minutes passed. Still rock hard.
An hour. No change.
Two hours. Still as stiff as ever.
Saki was completely dumbfounded. What kind of finger didn't soften after two hours of boiling? What kind of creature did this even come from?
Still, after boiling it for that long, even if it wasn't technically "cooked," surely all the bacteria had been killed, right?
Thinking that, she scooped the finger out and tried biting into it—only to find it was too tough to even take a bite. So she just swallowed the whole thing.
The moment she did, her heart gave a hard thump, and then a strange power surged through every inch of her body.
At the same time, her body started changing. Black, ring-like patterns appeared all over her skin, and a second pair of eyes opened up just beneath her usual ones.
Her presence suddenly became cold and dangerous.
"Heh... finally revived. I can enjoy the thrill of killing again."
Ryomen Sukuna, having successfully taken over the girl's body, grinned with a menacing smirk—and then burst into loud laughter.
Saki stared in shock at her body, now moving on its own. It took her a moment to process what was happening, but then she immediately fought back and regained control.
"What the hell are you? Why are you inside my body?" she demanded with a scowl.
Sukuna froze. He was just about to ask how she was still able to move, when he realized he'd completely lost control of the body.
The black markings quickly faded, and the extra eyes shut and disappeared unwillingly, leaving behind only two faint lines like some kind of special makeup.
"How are you still moving?" he asked from inside her mind.
"This is my body. Of course I can control it. You still haven't answered my question," Saki said, clearly annoyed.
"What even are you? Why are you inside me? Were you trying to steal my body?"
Sukuna didn't respond. He was too busy questioning reality, unable to accept the fact that a mere human—an ordinary girl who wasn't even a sorcerer—had actually suppressed him.
