The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 51

"But it can't be illegal, or immoral, or anything that embarrasses me, or hurts anyone, or—" she went on and on with her conditions.

Okay, maybe the offer wasn't that great after all.

Sukuna was about to say no again, but then he suddenly sensed where one of his fingers was and said, "To the left."

Saki thought he'd accepted her deal and instantly followed his direction. After running for a bit, she reached a fork in the tunnel.

"And now?" she asked.

"Keep going straight," Sukuna replied.

"There's no path straight ahead," Saki pointed out.

"Then punch your way through, duh," Sukuna said impatiently.

Saki: "......"

She wanted to say that would cause way too much damage, but then remembered what Gojo had told her—she could tear down the whole school if she wanted. So she didn't hesitate anymore and slammed her fist forward.

Just like that, she became a crazed mole, blasting through the ground under Sukuna's direction, tunneling straight through everything in her path.

Aboveground, no one at Jujutsu High had any clue what was happening. All they knew was the ground was shaking violently and huge sections of the school were collapsing.

One more punch shattered a mountain wall and the barrier inside it. Suddenly, Saki burst into a vast underground palace.

There's a whole palace under Jujutsu High?

She stared in awe at the grand hall in front of her, but didn't stop. "Where to next?" she asked.

"That hallway on the right," Sukuna directed.

Saki dashed in without hesitation. After sprinting through a long corridor, she saw a storage room ahead. Two figures lay collapsed and motionless outside the entrance, their bodies badly burned.

She instinctively ran forward to check on them.

But Sukuna frowned and urged her, "Keep going—the finger's been taken."

Saki's expression shifted. In the next second, she realized—he wasn't helping her chase the curse. He was just leading her to his finger.

"How could you—" she started, furious.

"Cut the crap. The result's the same, isn't it? Those guys came for the finger anyway," Ryomen Sukuna interrupted her.

Saki swallowed her words. But as she looked down at the two nearly unconscious guards, she picked up the one in worse shape without a second thought—saving them came first.

She didn't care how other people ranked what was more important. For her, human life always came first.

Sukuna frowned in annoyance, then finally said, "Give me the body. I'll help you save them."

Technically, it didn't matter if the finger was stolen—Kenjaku wanted to revive him anyway, so sooner or later the finger would end up being delivered to him.
But the problem was, he was starting to think Kenjaku was kind of useless. He was worried the finger might end up being recovered by Gojo Satoru, so he'd actually rather the girl got her hands on it today.

Because of the binding vow, once the girl made a promise to collect the fingers, she wouldn't be able to give them away. Even if she wasn't afraid of breaking that vow, Gojo Satoru definitely wouldn't let her take that risk. The finger would end up in her hands, for sure.

"You actually want to save them?" Saki asked, skeptical.

"They won't last two more minutes," Sukuna calmly reminded her.

Saki quickly handed over control of her body.

Sukuna dropped the one she was holding, then roughly grabbed both of the injured guards and activated his reverse cursed technique. In just a moment, he had stabilized their conditions.

He didn't completely heal them—just made sure they wouldn't die—then gave control back to her.

"Go get the finger," he ordered.

This time, Saki didn't hesitate. She continued the pursuit under his direction, and soon spotted the figures of two special-grade curses.

Not only was Hanami—the one she'd been chasing—there, but Jogo was too.

"Jogo, you go ahead. I'll hold her off," Hanami said immediately.

All the chaos Saki had caused made it obvious she'd been chasing them all along, and they were only here to warn Jogo to get out.

As they spoke, they summoned a massive tangle of tree roots to completely block off the passage Saki was charging down.

"Hanami!" Jogo hesitated for a second, but realizing he wouldn't be much help even if he stayed behind—and not wanting their plan to go to waste—he gritted his teeth and ran.

Of course, the tree roots were no match for Saki. One punch blasted through them, collapsing the entire passage in the process.

"The finger's with the volcano-head guy," Sukuna said lazily.

Saki understood he was telling her to prioritize retrieving the finger. Since he'd helped save those people just now, she didn't push back this time.

Hanami didn't stand a chance. They couldn't even track her movements. In just a blink, Saki was already behind Jogo, slashing down with the cursed tool she'd gotten from Fushiguro.

The long blade sliced across Jogo's neck. A second later, his head rolled off, and his body collapsed forward with the momentum.

Hanami froze in place.

Saki had no hesitation about killing non-humanoid, non-human beings.

She walked over, picked up the six fingers that had fallen to the ground, then turned to face the still-stunned Hanami—ready to take them out too.

Hanami had originally been ready to fight to the death for their comrade, but when they noticed the girl hadn't gone in for the finishing blow, they suddenly turned and ran in the opposite direction, trying to lure her away.

'The head is a curse spirit's core. If the head isn't destroyed, they're not that easy to kill.'

Saki didn't know that. So when Hanami ran, she immediately chased after them.

To avoid getting caught, Hanami had to keep destroying the tunnels behind them to slow her down. And to keep up, Saki had to destroy the tunnels ahead of her to clear the way.

What they didn't know was that the palace they were wrecking...
was the Tombs of the Star Corridor—Master Tengen's residence.

That day, the Star Corridor suffered unprecedented destruction.

In the end, Hanami was caught just a few minutes later. In their panic, they blindly ran all the way down to the deepest level of the Tombs of the Star Corridor. Any further, and they'd be stepping into Tengen's private domain—protected by countless layers of barriers.

There was nowhere to hide in the vast, empty hall.

Saki charged in without hesitation and swung her blade straight at his neck—but this time, it didn't work.
