The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 55
Saki instantly decided she was going to take good care of it—completely unbothered by the fact that it was technically a curse.
Gojo didn't object either. His attitude was basically "whatever."
He didn't think a curse this weak could stir up any trouble. It had already gotten wrecked by the girl when it was at full strength—now, it had even less of a chance.
And just like that, Hanami dodged a bullet and successfully stayed.
Uraume brought over the breakfast they'd just finished cooking. After Saki delivered the two portions meant for her brother and Genos, everyone sat down to eat together.
—Thanks to Uraume's amazing cooking, Genos had completely stopped making meals, and Uraume had taken over all the cooking for the group.
Once breakfast was over, Gojo didn't seem like he planned to leave. He leaned back in his chair, lazily texting on his phone.
"Mr. Gojo, don't you have work today?" Saki asked curiously.
He was usually super busy. Normally, he'd eat and then dip right away.
"My job now is to keep an eye on you," Gojo answered matter-of-factly. "If I go back to Jujutsu High, they'll definitely drag me into another meeting."
As he spoke, he sat up straight and grinned, "So, Kiki-chan, what's your plan for today?"
"I've got that radio program from the other day. It's a live broadcast, from ten to eleven in the morning. I'm free this afternoon," Saki answered honestly.
"Ooh, a show? I wanna go, I wanna go too!" Gojo immediately jumped on the chance.
"Sure," Saki agreed casually.
Even though it was a radio show and didn't require her to be on camera, the program had also invited another guest—also a girl idol.
Since she was up against a rival, obviously she had to show up in full glam. After breakfast, she headed back to her room to get ready.
Gojo Satoru, on the other hand, waited in the living room, bored out of his mind.
As soon as the girl left, the mood in the room instantly dropped. Mahito and Uraume both tensed up, unable to relax in front of the strongest jujutsu sorcerer.
"What are you two standing around for? If you've got nothing to do, go clean something," Gojo said with a bright smile.
Mahito and Uraume: "......"
They silently went to clean.
Gojo lounged around playing on his phone for a bit, but quickly got bored. He suddenly reached for the flowerpot with Hanami in it and pulled it in front of him.
"I'm kinda bored," he said, flicking one of Hanami's leaves with a finger. Then he ordered, "Come on, change colors."
Hanami didn't move, trying to play dead.
Seeing that, Gojo reached out and grabbed one of the leaves. With the gentlest pull, it tore right off. The leaf disintegrated into dust the moment it separated from the stem.
After pulling off one, he reached for the second.
Hanami didn't dare play dead anymore. Their leaf trembled slightly, then, shaking all over, it turned from blue to yellow.
"Yellow's ugly. Try pink," Gojo said, continuing to mess with it out of boredom.
Hanami obeyed.
"Now try making each petal a different color. I want red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet—all of them."
Hanami went quiet.
"If you can't do it, I'll exorcise you."
Hanami obeyed.
"Now try constantly changing colors nonstop."
Hanami went quiet again.
"If you can't do it, I'll exorcise you."
Hanami obeyed.
By the time Saki finished doing her makeup and came out, Hanami no longer looked like the small blue flower from before. Now it had turned into a dazzling rainbow-colored blossom.
Not only that, the petals were shifting colors nonstop—like a tiny, multicolored nightlight.
Saki: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
...
At 9:30, Saki brought Gojo, Uraume, and Mahito into the manager's car and headed off to the program with her entire gang.
Uraume was even holding the flowerpot with Hanami inside.
—It was a curse, after all. Leaving it home alone might've led to trouble.
At 10:00, Saki went into the studio for the live show, while the others waited in the break room set aside for staff.
At 11:00, Saki wrapped up her work.
Since she had more work in the afternoon, the manager left the car for them and took a cab back to the company. Gojo took over and drove everyone to a restaurant they'd reserved for lunch.
At noon, they finished eating.
Saki had planned to head home afterward, but under Gojo's suggestion, they decided to go see a movie first, then swing by Gleni's for dessert.
That place was famous for its crème brûlée mille-feuille.
Uraume wasn't interested in the movie and asked to go home and do housework. Mahito didn't want to hang out with Gojo either, so he also asked to go home and help.
Saki approved both requests.
Watching the two of them walk away, she couldn't help but sigh, "They're so hardworking."
Gojo smiled and echoed, "Yeah, super hardworking."
Neither of them had any awareness that they were totally exploiting free labor, and happily headed off to the theater.
At the cinema, Gojo Satoru volunteered to buy the tickets and ended up choosing between a newly released high school romance and a horror flick—he went with the horror.
He wasn't into rom-coms, and besides, those were for couples. It'd be weird for the two of them to go see one.
It wasn't until Saki got the ticket that she realized he'd picked a horror movie—and not just any horror movie, a full-on supernatural ghost flick. Her expression cracked beneath her mask.
She was scared of ghosts.
Sure, she could flatten any enemy in a fight, but when it came to ghosts? Absolutely terrified.
Gojo noticed something was off and looked surprised. "Kiki-chan, don't tell me you're scared of ghosts? They're fictional, you know."
Saki stayed quiet for a few seconds, then decided to just be honest instead of putting on a brave front.
"I know they're fictional. That's exactly why they're scary. My imagination can take that fear and blow it up infinitely," she answered, totally justified.
If it were something real, she could punch it. But if it wasn't real, then all she could do was scare herself to death.
"Huh, that's a new take," Gojo said, then casually grabbed her arm and started dragging her toward the theater. "Alright, let's hurry up and check in."
"Wait, shouldn't you be all thoughtful and say we can switch to a different movie right now?!" Saki cried out in shock.
