The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 74

"Oh, so you dreamed it too?" Saki blinked, then immediately got defensive. "What's wrong with my past? I've always lived a very bright, positive life, thank you very much."

Sukuna couldn't even be bothered to argue. There was no describing the horror of experiencing that kind of dream from a first-person view—watching himself act all cute and clingy was pure torture.

"Anyway, hurry up and think of something. At least figure out a way to stop the dreams," Saki said, dragging the topic back on track.

Sukuna shut his eyes, clearly done with this conversation.

Saki crouched down and grabbed his collar, shaking him hard. "Fix it, fix it, fix it!"

Sukuna was already badly injured, and with that rough shaking, his barely-healed ribs shifted out of place. He couldn't help letting out a pained grunt.

Saki froze, feeling a little guilty, but she still didn't let up. "Come on, think of something. I haven't slept well in two nights!"

"If I had a way to fix it, don't you think I would've by now instead of letting you shake me half to death?!" Sukuna snapped through gritted teeth.

...Okay, that actually made sense.

Saki finally shut up, a bit sheepish. She decided she'd go ask Gojo for help once the sun was up. But that was still hours away, and she didn't dare fall asleep again in case she had another nightmare.

"Let's play cards," she said suddenly, smiling like nothing had happened—completely ignoring the fact that he was half-dead.

Sukuna, probably just tired of being harassed, figured card games were the lesser evil. So even though he was barely holding it together, he sat up with a scowl and started playing cards with her.

They played until morning, arguing nonstop the whole time—but at least they didn't start throwing punches again.

When the time was about right, Saki left the Domain without a hint of hesitation, quickly got up, washed up, then dashed downstairs and knocked hard on Gojo's door.

It was Mahito who opened it, holding a rag in his hand, clearly in the middle of cleaning the floor.

"Mahito, you're already up doing chores this early? You're so hardworking," Saki said sincerely, praising him.

Mahito: "......"

Before Mahito could even respond, she suddenly remembered he could touch souls, so she grabbed his hand right away and said, "Quick, check this out—something's wrong with my soul and Sukuna's."

"What's wrong?" Gojo had just stepped out of his bedroom and caught that last part.

Seeing that Gojo was up too, Saki no longer rushed Mahito and instead pulled both of them to sit down as she explained the entire situation in detail.

"Neither of us can touch the thread, and we can't tear it apart either."

"I'm scared to go to sleep now. Every time I sleep, I see Sukuna's past—and he's been seeing mine too."

Gojo went quiet, thinking hard, then instructed, "Mahito, go in and check it out first."

Mahito nodded obediently and used his technique to enter Sukuna's Domain.

Saki followed him in right away.

Mahito could see the thread too and immediately tried to sever it—but failed. And he had no clue what kind of curse it was either.

"What do we do? I seriously can't sleep properly anymore," Saki said, completely drained now that neither of them had any solution.

"If I keep missing sleep, I'm gonna start looking ugly."

"If I get ugly, I'll start losing followers."

"If I lose followers, then there's no way I'll win next year's 'Most Popular Female Idol' award!"

Gojo: "......"

You're seriously worried about that right now?!

Gojo was genuinely impressed by how chill she was. With a curse like this, the first thing anyone should be worried about was their life.

There was no way this curse was just about sharing memories—there had to be more to it. In the worst-case scenario, Saki really could end up losing control of her body.

"Besides the dreams at night, have you noticed anything else unusual?" he asked, frowning.

"Nope," Saki replied honestly, shaking her head.

"If anything strange happens, let me know immediately. I'll have someone dig through the records to see if there's any documentation on something like this," Gojo said calmly.

"Got it," Saki nodded obediently.

She trusted him completely. Even though the problem wasn't solved yet, just hearing him take charge made her feel a lot more at ease.

Gojo looked calm on the surface, but inside, he was panicking. He skipped breakfast and rushed out the door.

Saki brought Mahito back upstairs, then after a moment's thought, had him go fetch the three Death Painting brothers. She also went to wake her own brother up. Once everyone had gathered, she told them about what was going on.

Three heads are better than one, right? Maybe someone would come up with a solution.

Uraume and the Death Painting brothers all fell into deep thought after hearing the story. Only Saitama stayed completely serious—as he gave Saki some heartfelt, big-brother-style encouragement.

"Ki-chan, don't worry," Saitama said seriously. "At worst, bad sleep just gives you dark circles. But even with dark circles, you're still the prettiest. You'll definitely win next year's 'Most Popular Female Idol' award."

"Mhm." Saki looked genuinely comforted.

Everyone else: "......"

They had to admit—this sibling duo's brains were 100% wired the same way.

The whole group spent the entire morning trying to brainstorm a solution... and got absolutely nowhere. Just before noon, there was a knock at the door.

Uraume went to open it. The visitor was a man Gojo had referred over—someone named Kusakabe Atsuya.

Kusakabe Atsuya, the second-year homeroom teacher at Tokyo Jujutsu High. The only reason he became a teacher was because the job came with low risk and a decent paycheck. He was a man who deeply valued his own life.

He had only agreed to come after Gojo personally promised the job was completely safe.

But now, standing in the doorway, he looked around the room and instantly regretted all of his life choices.

Saki—Ryomen Sukuna's vessel, and someone who'd flipped the higher-ups three times already.

Saitama—Saki's brother, rumored to be even stronger than her.

Uraume—an incarnated, and allegedly one of Ryomen Sukuna's former followers.

Mahito—a special grade cursed spirit.

Choso—the first of the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings.

Kechizu—the second Death Painting.

Eso—the third Death Painting.
