The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 75

Kusakabe swallowed hard, his throat dry as sandpaper. He silently began praying that he would somehow make it out of this job alive.

So much for a safe work environment!

Kusakabe really wanted to use the excuse of "wrong address" to leave, but Saki had already guessed who he was and warmly invited him in.

"You're Mr. Kusakabe, right? Come on in."

Kusakabe had no choice. He could only bite the bullet and step inside, then brace himself to start teaching.

The scariest part was that everyone was super curious about how a Jujutsu High teacher taught his classes. Except for Saitama, no one left—they all stayed to audit the lesson.

Kusakabe: "..."

If he ever believed Gojo Satoru again, he'd be a complete idiot.

Back when Gojo was teaching Saki how to channel cursed energy, she just couldn't figure it out no matter how hard she tried. But now that she knew how to control cursed energy, everything else came naturally to her.

Stuff like how to steadily output cursed energy, how to reinforce her body with it, or how to detect residual traces—it all clicked for her right after learning the theory.

She even learned how to create a basic barrier in under twenty minutes.

Kusakabe was so shaken by the whole teaching experience that he left questioning his life choices, completely convinced there was no need for a second visit. He called Gojo to report what had happened—meaning now there was one more person having an existential crisis.

Gojo Satoru: Wait, am I actually just a bad teacher?

...

Saki started living a dream-every-time-she-sleeps kind of life, and all the dreams were about Sukuna's past—either he was killing someone or on his way to kill someone.

That messed up her sleep schedule big time.

Every night she'd wake up after three or four hours of sleep from the nightmares. Then, to kill time, she'd either play cards with Sukuna or pick a fight with him. Since she wasn't getting enough rest, she'd get sleepy during the day, so she'd nap—and then oversleep, which messed up her ability to sleep at night again.

This chaotic cycle left her a little mentally drained. Of course, "drained" didn't mean she was actually tired in a physical sense—it was more like she was just in a bad mood.

—Even though she constantly talked about how important sleep was, she actually had unlimited energy, so the quality of her sleep never really affected her body.

To lift her mood, she decided to do something fun—like get a fresh set of nails.

Once she had the idea, she acted on it. Saki took Uraume and headed out to her usual nail salon and found the same nail tech she always went to.

Getting her nails done always took a while, especially since she liked more intricate designs. But she was super into anything that made her prettier, so she not only had the patience to wait—she actually enjoyed the whole process.

But today, something was definitely off.

At first, she was just like usual—watching the nail tech work while chatting about the latest celebrity gossip. But as time passed, she gradually went quiet, suddenly not in the mood to talk, and started feeling irritated for no reason.

When she suddenly blurted out, "How much longer? Can you hurry it up?"—not only did the nail tech freeze, she was shocked herself.

"I didn't sleep well last night... I'm just kind of sleepy," she quickly explained.

The nail tech nodded understandingly, tidied up the table a bit, and kindly suggested with a smile, "You can lean forward and rest for a while if you want."

Saki took the offer, but instead of sleeping, her soul headed straight into her innate domain to find Sukuna.

"Sukuna, what's going on? Is it your emotions messing with me?" she asked, frowning.

Something was clearly wrong. There was no way she'd feel annoyed while doing something she genuinely enjoyed.

"Heh, you're only just realizing it?" Sukuna said lazily. "Our emotions started syncing two days ago."

"What?!" Saki's entire world collapsed the moment she got confirmation.

"First it was memories, now emotions. If nothing goes wrong, next will probably be feelings and thoughts," Sukuna had more or less figured out Kenjaku's plan.

"Th-thoughts? What happens then?" Saki quickly asked.

"No idea," Sukuna replied casually, making random guesses. "Maybe I'll get influenced by you and think I'm Saki—someone with the memories of the King of Curses."

"Or maybe you'll get influenced by me and think you're the King of Curses who successfully took over this body."

"When two souls' memories, emotions, feelings, thoughts—everything—are completely in sync, then there's basically no difference from being one single soul."

"What! What! What!" Saki was now officially losing it.

That theory sounded terrifying no matter how she thought about it.

"Then what do we do? Think of something! You seriously don't care if we end up like that? You're not even a little worried?" Saki was totally freaking out.

"What's there to worry about? It's just a gamble," Sukuna really didn't seem fazed at all.

But the reason wasn't what he said. He wasn't just casually gambling—he actually had a way to leave the girl's body. Worst case scenario, he planned to switch over to Itadori Yuji.

He was confident that, if it came to that, no one would say no to him switching bodies.

After all, if his consciousness completely took over the girl's body, making it his own in a twisted way, that would be a total catastrophe for the entire world.

But Saki didn't want to gamble. She stopped arguing with him and directly exited her innate domain. She didn't even bother finishing her nails—made up some emergency excuse and left the nail salon.

As soon as she stepped outside, she immediately called Gojo and told him everything she had just found out.

Half an hour later, Gojo rushed back.

"Mr. Gojo, what do I do? What if I turn into a psycho who loves killing people?" Saki asked, panicked and desperate.

"Calm down. It's not guaranteed Sukuna's consciousness will win out. Maybe you'll still prefer being an idol over being a m*rderer," Gojo quickly tried to comfort her.

"Ughhhh, what if I end up becoming a m*rderer and an idol?" Saki looked like she was about to cry. "Idol by day, serial killer by night."

She'd already pictured the whole scenario in her head.

"You won't. If it really comes to that, I'll stop you," Gojo continued to reassure her.

"But you can't beat me," Saki looked even more miserable.

  1. Harsh, but true. Sorry Gojo, but throughout Heaven and Earth, there are at least two other honored ones. XD

    Thanks for the chapters!

    1. Or three. I forgot about Sukuna. To be fair, Saitama and Saki forget about him too. :P
