The King of Curses Can't Stop Me from Becoming an Idol Ch. 85

Anger. Sadness. Frustration...

Even after being separated, the curse connection hadn't disappeared.

"You're such a jerk," Saki growled, her whole body trembling. Her power, driven by raw emotion, began to spike exponentially. Cracks snaked out from beneath her feet in every direction.

Sukuna couldn't see the invisible surge of strength—but he could feel its overwhelming pressure.

Beautiful.

A second later—BOOM! Her right foot slammed into the ground, leaving a crater behind as she shot forward like a cannonball.

His pupils shrank. He threw a punch without hesitation—but the arm he used shattered instantly, from fingertip to shoulder blade, bones spiderwebbed with fractures, just like in their very first fight.

He ignored the damage with a wild grin, and with another hand, he slammed his fist into her stomach to force her back.

The battle kicked off again.

Neither of them knew how long it lasted—maybe a few minutes, maybe dozens. Time blurred when they were locked in that kind of fight.

At last, Sukuna collapsed as the loser—covered in blood, three out of four arms destroyed, every bone in his body broken, all his organs wrecked. His cursed energy was almost completely drained, leaving him barely able to regenerate anything.

Saki walked over to confirm.

"You lost," she said.

"Yeah."

"That means you have to listen to me from now on."

"Yeah."

A bet was a bet. Sukuna accepted the outcome without complaint—and honestly, he felt amazing. The fight had been brutal, but exactly what he'd craved.

Saki, now finally relaxed, plopped to the ground and burst into loud, messy sobs.

"Waaah! You're such a jerk!"

"Waaah! You actually hit me! You even hurt my face!"

Sukuna: "......"

He just stared at her, completely stunned by her logic. The emotion coming from her wasn't fake, either—she was really that sad and upset.

'What the hell is she crying about?' He was the one who nearly got beaten to death. Her only injury was that tiny scratch on her cheek that didn't even bleed.

"You're too loud. Shut it," he muttered, his head pounding.

"You're still yelling at me? After hitting me, you're still being mean?" Saki cried even louder.

She really was feeling miserable—not just because he'd hurt her, but because she genuinely saw him as a friend.

Even though they'd agreed to fight, she hadn't taken it all that seriously. Deep down, she'd believed it'd be fine even if she lost, because he wouldn't really hurt her. That this was just a little friendly clash between buddies. But when she realized he'd been serious—when he really tried to hurt her—of course she was upset.

Sukuna was about to lose his mind from the noise. He lifted his one working hand and muttered impatiently, "It's just a scratch. Come here. I'll fix it."

Saki was very protective of her pretty face. The second she heard that, she perked up and was just about to walk over—

When suddenly, a voice shouted from behind her.

"Ki-chan."

It was her brother's voice.

She turned her head and saw Saitama and Gojo approaching.

The ruckus from her fight with Sukuna had been way too intense—residents nearby thought it was an earthquake. Saitama and Gojo immediately guessed who was responsible and rushed over.

"Big brother..." Saki whimpered miserably.

She looked a complete mess—her nightgown was ripped to shreds, covered in dust and blood, looking absolutely pitiful.

—The blood was Sukuna's, by the way.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Saitama's expression turned serious in an instant as he ran over to check on her.

"Huuuhuhu, Sukuna hit me. He's such a jerk. I got hurt!" Saki sniffled and started tattling between hiccups.

Gojo looked from the barely-alive Ryomen Sukuna to the lively, full-of-energy girl and fell into a strange silence.

He was usually the type to side with people he cared about, not necessarily whoever was right. But in this moment, with this scene in front of him... it was seriously hard to side with the girl in good conscience.

"Kiki-chan, where are you hurt?" he asked, confused—his Six Eyes couldn't detect any injuries.

"Yeah, where does it hurt?" Saitama echoed, genuinely concerned.

Saki pointed to the tiny scratch on her cheek.

Gojo had to lean in close to even spot it—the mark was so faint it was barely visible. Honestly, if you sent someone to the hospital with a cut like this, the doctor probably wouldn't even bother.

Gojo: "..."

Again, normally he was 100% biased toward people he cared about. But this? This made it really hard to defend her.

Saitama, on the other hand, backed his sister unconditionally. He immediately got pissed. "Don't worry, I'll go beat him up for you."

"No, no, no! If you hit him again, he'll actually die!" Saki quickly stopped him.

"Then let's just go home. You two stirred up way too much noise—someone's probably on their way here already." Gojo sighed and suggested they head back, then looked over at Sukuna, who was sitting there with his eyes closed. "Need help?"

Sukuna opened all four of his eyes and gave him a deadpan sideways glance before slowly pushing himself upright on his own.

While they'd been talking, some of his cursed energy had recovered—just enough to roughly heal his shattered organs and bones. His arms hadn't regenerated fully yet, but he could move just fine.

Even Gojo couldn't help but be a little impressed by how fast he bounced back.

Meanwhile, Saki—completely unharmed—stretched out her arms toward her brother as soon as she heard they were going home, acting like she'd just come out of a war-zone.

If you didn't know better, you'd think she was the one who got nearly killed.

Saitama, totally wrapped around her finger, scooped her up without hesitation and cradled her in his arms, ready to dash straight home.

"Wait."

Saki suddenly spoke up.

Saitama paused.

"My injury."

Saki rested her chin on his shoulder and looked dramatically back at Sukuna.

Sukuna was so done. He was clearly fed up, but he still reached out, his bloody hand touching her cheek. He activated Reversed Cursed Technique and healed the scratch without effort.

Tch. What a damn princess.

Saitama didn't bother with Gojo or Sukuna and just took his sister straight home. The two siblings vanished from the spot in an instant.

Only Gojo and Sukuna were left at the scene.

Gojo looked over the latter's condition and figured he could probably take him out pretty easily right now, which made a flicker of m*rderous intent flash through his mind.

Sukuna noticed the killing intent, but didn't care at all. He walked forward on his own, like he was sure the other guy wouldn't make a move.

Gojo really didn't plan to. There was no point, after all.
